Instructions (one step per line)
Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) — 10 minutes Grease and flour a 9-inch round cake pan — 5 minutes In a large bowl, cream together the softened butter and sugar until light and fluffy — 5 minutes Add eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition — 3 minutes Stir in the orange juice, orange zest, and vanilla extract — 2 minutes In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt — 2 minutes Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, mixing until just combined — 3 minutes Pour the batter into the prepared cake pan — 2 minutes Bake in the preheated oven for 30-35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean — 35 minutes Let the cake cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely — 10 minutes
