8 ounces elbow macaroni 2 tablespoons butter 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour 2 cups milk 2 cups shredded sharp cheddar cheese 1/2 teaspoon salt 1/4 teaspoon black pepper 1/4 teaspoon paprika 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
Instructions (one step per line)
Boil water in a large pot and cook macaroni according to package instructions — 8 minutes Drain the macaroni and set aside — 2 minutes In the same pot, melt butter over medium heat — 1 minute Stir in flour and cook for about 1 minute until well combined — 1 minute Gradually whisk in milk and cook until the sauce thickens, stirring frequently — 5 minutes Remove from heat and stir in cheese, salt, pepper, and paprika until smooth — 2 minutes Add the cooked macaroni to the cheese sauce and mix well — 2 minutes Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) — 5 minutes Transfer the mac and cheese to a baking dish and sprinkle breadcrumbs on top — 2 minutes Bake in the preheated oven until the top is golden brown — 10 minutes
