1 pound chicken breast, diced 1/2 cup all-purpose flour 1/2 teaspoon salt 1/4 teaspoon black pepper 1/2 cup cornstarch 1/2 cup vegetable oil (for frying) 1/2 cup orange juice 1/4 cup sugar 1/4 cup soy sauce 1 tablespoon rice vinegar 1 tablespoon cornstarch (for sauce) 1 tablespoon water 1 orange, zested 2 green onions, chopped (for garnish)
Instructions (one step per line)
In a bowl, mix flour, salt, and pepper — 2 minutes Coat the diced chicken in the flour mixture — 3 minutes Heat vegetable oil in a pan over medium heat — 2 minutes Fry the coated chicken until golden brown, about 4 minutes per side — 8 minutes In a separate saucepan, combine orange juice, sugar, soy sauce, rice vinegar, and orange zest — 2 minutes Bring the sauce to a simmer over medium heat — 3 minutes Mix 1 tablespoon cornstarch with 1 tablespoon water and add to the sauce, stirring until thickened — 2 minutes Add the fried chicken to the sauce and stir to coat — 2 minutes Garnish with chopped green onions before serving — 1 minute
